PFS Passive Fire Solutions Inc. provides passive fire protection inspection, survey and advisory services. We collect only the personal information we need to do that work, and we protect it under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act.
Business contact details of the people we work with — clients, contractors, installers and building authorities — so that we can deliver inspection forms, notices and reports to the parties the standards require. On site, our records note who was present. Our photographs are of building assemblies, not people; if someone appears incidentally, the image stays in the inspection file and is not published or used for anything else. If you contact us through this site or by email, we use what you send to reply.
We do not sell, rent or share personal information for marketing. We do not collect government identifiers, financial account details or health information.
Our email, calendar, documents and records are kept in Microsoft 365, in Canada; Microsoft's sign-in service is hosted in North America, which may include the United States. Our invoicing is in QuickBooks Online, which Intuit hosts in the United States with a backup copy in Canada. Inspection records made on site with our own field application are kept on the inspector's device and in our Microsoft 365 records. This website and our field application are hosted by Netlify in the United States; like any web host, its servers may record standard connection data such as your IP address in their logs, and when we prepare an invoice the client's name, email address and invoice details pass through it on their way to QuickBooks. Information held in the United States may be accessed under the laws of that country. We add a provider to this notice before we give it any personal information. Inspection records, including any personal information in them, are kept for ten years from the final deliverable, because the record has to remain complete for that time. Other personal information is deleted when we no longer need it.
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, how we have used it, and to correct it. Write to the Privacy Officer below; we respond within 45 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
